Bloom are committed to leaving an impact, not a trace. As the UK’s first 100% plastic-free and sustainable online florist, we take this commitment incredibly seriously. In an effort to being considered the UK’s most ethical florist and achieving carbon neutrality, we are supporting reforestation projects by partnering with the World Land Trust. We have pledged to plant enough trees to offset the carbon footprint of our production, packaging, deliveries, office operations & travel.

What’s more, every time you fill your green points accumulator in your Bloom Dashboard, we will plant another tree through the World Land Trust. As part of our ongoing environmental commitment to excellence, we are working our third-party suppliers to do the same and it is our aim that they themselves will all have carbon capturing programs. To date, our stationary partner is part of the Woodland Trust Carbon Capture Program.

By planting a tree with the World Land Trust, local conservation partners continue to receive funding to reforest areas that have been previously lost and contribute towards reconnecting fragmented habitats for wildlife.

The World Land Trust works with local partners in their identified countries to protect crucial areas of land; selecting sites which are rich in biodiversity to support long-term conservation goals. With reforestation one of the main ecosystem restoration methods, the World Land Trust support the reforestation process, from the planting and care of young trees, right through to their establishment as a new forest habitat.

Many tree planting projects fail because there is no strict ongoing monitoring and maintenance policy in place once the sapling trees are in the ground. To secure long-term success, the World Land Trust is committed to supporting the very labour-intensive, time-consuming and costly maintenance of reforested areas. Every World Land Trust local partner implements a comprehensive monitoring and maintenance schedule to ensure that the saplings planted grow well for at least 10 years. At this time, the trees are mature enough to see a reduction in natural mortality, allowing the forests planted to flourish beautifully.
